Night Vision Universe LLC wants to make sure your optics are serviced if something were to go wrong. Night Vision Universe LLC is an Authorized Dealer for all of the optics offered. The manufacturer warranty will be honored. Depending on the manufacturer of the optic, the warranty period can vary, so please refer to the optics listing for warranty info. If it is not listed in the description or specs, please send me an email at sales@nightvisionuniverse.com or text me at 412-573-9059 and I will be happy to provide the info.
If warranty repair is ever needed, please refer to your optics manual for the manufacturers contact info, or go to their website. Of course, Night Vision Universe LLC is here to help too. I am happy to help setup a return to the manufacturer for you.
Please Note: I am just a dealer. I do not repair optics, since I am an authorized dealer, all manufacturer warranties are valid and warranty repair is done at the manufacturers tech department.
Image intensifier tubes used in night vision devices are manufactured through complex processes and may exhibit minor cosmetic characteristics such as small spots, faint shading, or slight variations in brightness. These cosmetic variations are normal for night vision technology and may be inherent to the manufacturing process.
These characteristics do not affect the performance or reliability of the device and are not considered defects unless they significantly interfere with the normal operation of the device. Each image intensifier tube is unique, and minor cosmetic variations are an expected part of night vision technology.
Due to the sensitive nature of night vision image intensifier tubes, normal use of the device may introduce cosmetic tube characteristics or blemishes. Once a night vision device has been used outdoors, it is considered used equipment and may not be eligible for return unless a verified manufacturer defect is present.
A lot of factors can determine turnaround time which I cannot control.
1. The time of year the repair needs to be done. - Fall and Winter months are the busiest times for optics manufacturers, so be prepared to wait.
2. If the optic can be repaired. - Can also be a factor as to when the repair is being performed. Fall and Winter months are busy. Also, if the part needed is not in stock, it can take time for that to arrive at the manufacturer.
3. If the optic is beyond repair and needs replaced. - A new unit will be sent out by the manufacturer, but sometimes it can also take time due to inventory status and time of year as mentioned above.
4. If the optic is beyond repair and it has been discontinued. - This is the manufacturers decision as to what to do. Usually they will replace it with the new version of the model you had or the next closest spec optic.
All warranty coverage is provided directly by the product manufacturer and is subject to the manufacturer’s terms, conditions, and limitations. Warranty duration and coverage may vary depending on the manufacturer and specific product. Certain components, such as image intensifier tubes used in night vision devices, may have different warranty periods than the overall device depending on the manufacturer’s policy.
Product specifications, features, and warranty coverage are provided based on manufacturer information and may change without notice.

At the heart of every thermal optic is a highly sensitive infrared sensor designed to detect heat signatures invisible to the naked eye. While incredibly precise, these sensors can be vulnerable to damage or image degradation if exposed to excessive thermal or infrared energy.
⚠️ Potential Effects of Overexposure:
Even brief exposure to intense heat sources or strong infrared energy may result in:
➤ Temporary pixel saturation or image washout
➤ Fixed lines or dead/stuck pixels in the display
➤ Image artifacts, duplicated edges, or ghosting
➤ Residual thermal patterns (image retention)
➤ Permanent sensor damage in severe cases
🚫 Avoid Exposure to Strong Infrared / Heat Sources Such As:
1️⃣ Direct viewing of the sun or near-direct solar exposure
2️⃣ Sunlight reflected from vehicle windows, windshields, mirrors, or glossy paint
3️⃣ Reflections from building glass, polished metal, or other highly reflective surfaces
4️⃣ High-temperature engines, exhaust systems, machinery, heaters, or industrial heat sources
5️⃣ Open flames, welding equipment, or other intense heat emitters
6️⃣ Prolonged viewing of extremely hot objects at close range
7️⃣ Rapid transitions between cooler environments and intense heat sources
⚡ Why This Matters:
Thermal optics are engineered for demanding environments, but field conditions can change quickly. Reflections, moving vehicles, shifting sunlight, or unexpected heat sources can expose the sensor to damaging energy in seconds. Awareness and proper handling help prevent avoidable issues.
🛡️ Protect Your Investment:
✔️ Keep the lens cap on whenever the device is not actively in use
✔️ Never point the optic directly at the sun
✔️ Use extra caution around reflective glass, mirrors, metal surfaces, and high-heat environments
✔️ Be especially mindful during sunrise, sunset, and bright daytime conditions
✔️ Avoid prolonged observation of extremely hot targets at close distances unless specifically permitted by the manufacturer
⚠️ Warranty & Care Notice:
Damage resulting from improper use, exposure to excessive heat, direct solar exposure, or operation outside manufacturer-recommended conditions is generally considered misuse or external damage rather than a defect in materials or workmanship. Warranty coverage is subject to the specific terms and conditions of the product manufacturer.
This warning is provided as general guidance. Always follow the care, operating, and warranty instructions supplied by the manufacturer of your specific device.
Please Note: I have no control over how the manufacturer will handle warranty returns for repair or replacement, the manufacturer has full control over how they handle their warranty process, but I am always here to help in anyway I possibly can. Never hesitate to contact me with any questions. 👍🏻🇺🇸
