How far can I see clearly using these night vision binoculars?

Firefield publishes a night-vision detection range of 200 m (219 yards) for the Hexcore HD. Detection does not guarantee recognition or identification at that distance; visibility depends on conditions and the IR setting.

How long does the battery last, and what type does it use?

The Hexcore HD uses four AA batteries. Published runtime is up to 8 hours by day, or approximately 1.5 hours on High IR, 3 hours on Medium IR and 5 hours on Low IR. Actual runtime varies with settings, temperature and battery condition.

Are the Firefield Hexcore HD binoculars comfortable to use for extended periods?

Absolutely! They’re designed with an ergonomic shape and lightweight build, making them comfortable to hold and operate during long nighttime excursions, whether you’re observing wildlife, camping, or on a surveillance mission.

What accessories are included, and is there a warranty?

Every Hexcore HD night vision binocular set comes with a carrying case, neck strap, lens cloth, and user manual to get you started. Your purchase is also backed by Firefield’s warranty, so you can buy with confidence knowing your investment is protected.

Can I use these binoculars hands-free, or do I have to hold them the whole time?

Yes, the Firefield Hexcore HD includes a DNV head mount and head strap, allowing you to convert the binoculars into night vision goggles for a completely hands-free experience during your explorations.

What is the battery life like, and how are they powered?

These binoculars are powered by four AA batteries (which are included). You can expect up to 8 hours of continuous use during the day. For nighttime use, battery life varies by IR mode: 1.5 hours on High, 3 hours on Medium, and 5 hours on Low.

How do I save the photos and videos I take with the Hexcore HD?

The unit features a built-in video recorder that saves HD 1280x720 resolution video in AVI format and photos in JPEG format. To collect your media, you must use a micro memory card (SD card) with a capacity of less than 64 GB.

Best Lookie-Lou on the market! Crysral clear picture is worth it!

This Rix handheld is worth every penny. You can see animals clearly and identify them easily. Easy to operate. I love the different options for viewing but my favorite is the white hot! My wife calls it her LOOKIE-LOU. She has had more fun with this handheld than I have. It's brought us closer together, giving her & i something to enjoy doing together. We love watching all the animals move around at night and this is so light and easy to use. Its a game changer for coyote hunting. Ive got a RIX thermal scope mounted to my rifle but having this smaller handheld to quickly scan the area has been a game changer. RIX is the best brand by far and their thermal game is on point. Love how clear i can see with this and its light weight and perfect for whatever your getting into!

Hi Whitney! Thank you for such an awesome review! I have to say, I got a kick out of your wife calling it her 'Lookie-Lou'! It's great to hear how much you're both enjoying the RIX handheld, and even better that it's become something you can spend time doing together. That's the kind of feedback I really enjoy hearing. Having a lightweight handheld for scanning alongside your RIX thermal scope is a great combination, especially for coyote hunting. I'm glad the image clarity, ease of use, and features have exceeded your expectations. I truly appreciate your support of Night Vision Universe, and I hope you and your wife enjoy many more nights with the Lookie-Lou!

Hi Whitney! Thank you for sharing your experience with the RIX mount! I'm glad to hear it's working so well with your Stride handheld and that it stands out compared to other mounts you've used. It's always great when an accessory not only does its job but exceeds expectations in quality and features. I appreciate you choosing Night Vision Universe and taking the time to help other customers who may be considering this mount. Enjoy your setup!

Really nice infrared light—it completely illuminates the area! The AGM NVG-40 NL1 Gen 2+ night vision goggles perform so well on their own that they rarely require an extra illuminator, but having this available is a game-changer in pitch-black rooms or areas with zero ambient light

Thank you for the detailed review! I'm glad to hear the infrared illuminator is performing so well with your AGM NVG-40 NL1 Gen 2+ night vision goggles. It's great that the goggles perform so well on their own, but having that extra illumination available in complete darkness can certainly make a big difference. I always enjoy hearing how customers are putting their equipment to use and how well everything works together. I truly appreciate your business and your continued support of Night Vision Universe!
