Can I use the RIX Stride ST3 Lite 384 for hands-free night hunting?

Yes, the RIX Stride ST3 Lite 384 is designed with a lightweight, hands-free setup. You can attach it to a helmet or use it handheld, making it ideal for night hunters who need freedom of movement without holding the device all the time.

How clear are the images in low light or foggy conditions with this thermal monocular?

The ST3 Lite uses a 384×288 thermal sensor with a 50 Hz refresh rate. It detects thermal contrast without visible light. Fog, humidity, distance and temperature contrast can reduce image detail.

What kind of batteries does it use, and how long does the device run?

The ST3 Lite uses a replaceable 18650 battery with a 70 mm length and has a published runtime of approximately 4 hours. Actual runtime varies with temperature, battery condition and enabled features.

Is the device durable enough to handle outdoor weather like rain and dust?

Yes, the RIX Stride ST3 Lite 384 is IP67 rated, meaning it's dust-tight and can withstand immersion in water up to a meter deep for short periods. This makes it rugged enough for various outdoor conditions.

Does this model support digital zoom, and can I connect it to other devices?

It offers digital zoom options of 1x, 2x, and 4x for better target identification. The monocular also supports WiFi connectivity, allowing you to connect it to your phone or tablet to view and share images or videos easily.

Can I use the RIX Stride ST3 Lite 384 as both a handheld device and a helmet-mounted monocular?

The ST3 Lite supports handheld and helmet-mounted use with compatible mounting hardware. Comfort depends on the complete mounting setup and fit.

How does the RIX Stride ST3 Lite 384 perform in humid or low-contrast weather?

The ST3 Lite has a published NETD below 20 mK. This describes thermal sensitivity; image detail still depends on humidity, distance and temperature contrast.

What kind of battery does the RIX Stride ST3 Lite 384 use, and how long does it last?

The ST3 Lite uses a replaceable 18650 battery with a 70 mm length and has a published runtime of approximately 4 hours. Actual runtime varies with temperature, battery condition and enabled features.

Is the RIX Stride ST3 Lite 384 lightweight enough to wear on a helmet for extended periods?

The ST3 Lite is designed for handheld and helmet-mounted use. Comfort depends on the complete mounting setup, fit and duration of use. Compatible mounting hardware is required.

What is the detection range and image quality of the RIX Stride ST3 Lite 384?

The RIX Stride ST3 Lite 384 features a 384x288 sensor with a 12µm pixel pitch and a 1024x768 OLED display for sharp images. It offers a detection range of up to 780 meters (852 yards) and a smooth 50Hz refresh rate to eliminate lag while scanning.

Best Lookie-Lou on the market! Crysral clear picture is worth it!

This Rix handheld is worth every penny. You can see animals clearly and identify them easily. Easy to operate. I love the different options for viewing but my favorite is the white hot! My wife calls it her LOOKIE-LOU. She has had more fun with this handheld than I have. It's brought us closer together, giving her & i something to enjoy doing together. We love watching all the animals move around at night and this is so light and easy to use. Its a game changer for coyote hunting. Ive got a RIX thermal scope mounted to my rifle but having this smaller handheld to quickly scan the area has been a game changer. RIX is the best brand by far and their thermal game is on point. Love how clear i can see with this and its light weight and perfect for whatever your getting into!

Hi Whitney! Thank you for such an awesome review! I have to say, I got a kick out of your wife calling it her 'Lookie-Lou'! It's great to hear how much you're both enjoying the RIX handheld, and even better that it's become something you can spend time doing together. That's the kind of feedback I really enjoy hearing. Having a lightweight handheld for scanning alongside your RIX thermal scope is a great combination, especially for coyote hunting. I'm glad the image clarity, ease of use, and features have exceeded your expectations. I truly appreciate your support of Night Vision Universe, and I hope you and your wife enjoy many more nights with the Lookie-Lou!

Hi Whitney! Thank you for sharing your experience with the RIX mount! I'm glad to hear it's working so well with your Stride handheld and that it stands out compared to other mounts you've used. It's always great when an accessory not only does its job but exceeds expectations in quality and features. I appreciate you choosing Night Vision Universe and taking the time to help other customers who may be considering this mount. Enjoy your setup!
